Commissioned by the Flanders Festival , first performance by the Flemish Radio Choir conducted by Bo Holten.

Ecce Beatam Lucem was written voor a program Magnus- Maior-Maximus performed in 2003 by Ensemble Polyfoon and Octopus .

The text is the same as  Striggio's 40- part motet. I though that 40 parts was a bit over the top ,mine is for 24 parts.

The text is rich in imaginery and so is the music.

While writing this mass in 2013  I was frequently among cancer patients, doctors and medical staff working in oncology.
